A Bit About Me

I’m Lisa Ferreira, owner and creator at LCF Design. I have carved out a niche as a one-stop shop for small businesses looking to build their brands holistically through authentic storytelling, powerful design and meaningful community engagement.

My passion for writing and design can be traced back to my roots in the publishing industry where I edited and designed everything from one page flyers to full-length travel books. I must admit that my first love is print media. I love printed books and the glorious feel of a high quality magazine page between my fingertips. But in my almost thirty years in marketing and design, I have learned to appreciate the impact of this digital age on the way we share and consume information. Small businesses can benefit from embracing the digital space.

Small businesses have a story to tell…

I love the collaborative process of discovery that happens when I begin working with a business to build or refresh their brand. It starts with the story (if you don’t think you have a unique story to tell, I promise that you do!). Then comes great design to visually represent you and your business. Traditional and digital marketing strategies, along with thoughtfully curated community events and local partnerships, build trust and create lasting relationships with consumers.

Some things I’m proud of professionally…

During the pandemic when online shopping surged and searches for ‘local’ businesses grew, Google’s digital tools were a lifeline for many of my clients. In fact, it was a proud moment when one of LCF Design’s long-time clients, Gil’s Appliances, was featured in Google’s 2020 Economic Impact Report for my use of Google tools to pivot and grow their business during the pandemic.

Another exciting career highlight included a small business roundtable discussion with Google CEO Sundar Pichai in 2020. I explained to him how I used such Google tools as the Google Business Profile, Google Ads, Google Analytics and Google Reviews to help my client thrive in a rapidly changing retail world. He later referenced our discussion in his testimony before Congress. Wow!

Earlier this year, in April of 2023, I had the honor of being just one of 65 small businesses from across the county to be invited back to DC for a Small Business Summit with Google. I attended valuable workshops with Google executives, round tables with inspiring small business owners from across the country, and enjoyed some DC fun.

While in DC, I also had the privilege of advocating for Small Businesses on Capitol Hill. In an effort to keep practical small business needs top of mind in the political and legislative fray, I met with Senator Markey’s (MA) office to discuss the importance of continued access to free and low-cost integrated digital tools for small business success, growth and competitiveness. A serendipitous bonus at the end of my trip was a small business discussion with Senator Jack Reed of RI at the airport.
